Dream Car

It’s about time I tell you about my car….

(insert cheering and clapping and confetti)

I know you might be thinking, “Really, THIS is her dream car?” and it’s true… it is. I have always, always, always wanted one. I can’t ever remember wanting any other car than a Volkswagen Beetle. My parents even owned an old one that we use to drive around in. Ask anyone who knows me, and they will say it is the one car that I have always called ‘mine’.

It really is a fairy tale as to how I got it. We went up to Wichita just to visit some family and friends and to look at the dealership just to see inside a new Beetle. Well, one event lead to another (like 0% interest, and they gave me $3000 for my other car) and I drove home in a new Beetle!

And although I really wanted a lime green one, the 2013s don’t come in lime green (bummer, I know) my (YES MINE ALL MINE) Beetle is toffee colored, with leather interior. It is push button started, has a touchscreen stereo, and couldn’t be more perfect.

A Day at the Renaissance Fair

I mean, who doesn’t love the Renaissance period? And if you don’t, then who doesn’t like seeing people dress up, joust, fight dragons, and eat giant turkey legs?

The festival ( www.kcrenfest.com ) is held in Kansas City and lasts from the end of August to the middle of October. Every weekend they have a new theme and different events going on. The weekend we went was Pirate’s Ale Fest!

So my husband and I took two of our best pals and went a couple of weekends ago. It was a blast! Here’s some pictures from our day in the Renaissance period.

The fair was like a giant maze. The streets ran together in a big whirl, and it was very hard to figure out where you were going! However every store was so cute, and there was definitely a lot of thought put into this. I was very impressed!

My husband as a princess ❤

My friend and I bought matching princess crowns (since we are real life princesses, and the fact that we had a princess tea to go to later that day).

For all you coffee lovers out there

My friend and I finished out the day at the Princess tea. We were served tea, given tons of delicious tea snacks, were told fairy tales by the fairies, and got to meet the queen (pictured above). It was a lot of fun, and I hope that if you ever get the chance to go, you take it! Everyone is in full character and never breaks for a moment.

Thanks for letting me share my pictures! Hope you have a wonderful monday!

Is it Fall yet?

I can’t believe it! All I hear is talk about how “summer is over” and “fall will soon be upon us”. Like, what!??? I am use to at least 2 more solid months of summer!
I’m having a hard time wrapping my mind around the season changes. I mean this year I get to watch the leaves change color and fall to the ground. I get to have an actual season change, and then I get to see it snow. It will be an interesting change for sure.

However I’m not letting it stop me from buying decorations! This is the first time my husband and I will be living in our own home together since we got married a year and a half ago. And you bet I’m buying decorations and going a little over board (okay, maybe a lot).

Here’s a look at some of the stuff I’ve gotten!:

The first picture is of two adorable wooden leaves that I bought at Hobby Lobby
Second picture is of the table cloth I bought at Michael’s.
And the third is of the cute harvest pillow I bought at Michael’s.

The best part?! It was all 40-60% off! Fall is looking better and better.

However there is this issue of fall clothes shopping….

Herb Planters

ImageOne of the things I love most about Kansas is the fact that I get to have my own garden!

See, in Arizona most of everything just dies. I mean the only place we have grass is at the park (and I’m sure they pay a fortune to water it with the 120 degree weather). So I’ve really loved having a garden. I love flowers and things like that. However, my older brother (who lives in California and has his own garden) started to rub off on me. His garden consists of all things you can eat, while mine is full of pretty flowers and bushes.

So I decided to plant some herbs! And I hope to rub off on you too, so you plant some as well! I planted basil, thyme, parsley, and cilantro. Now you might be thinking ,”I don’t even use those herbs”. But would you use them more if you had them lying around and they were free? Probably.

To make the planters, I just painted the top and bottom different colors. I used a paint pen to write the different names of the herbs on the outside. And they’re super cute!

They definitely spice up the kitchen with the bright colors. I’m in love, and I can’t wait to season my food with my own herbs!

Hello Lovelies!

I am so sorry I have been absent these last couple of weeks. We were busy!

List of some evens that have been happening:

  • I turned 20! SO happy belated birthday to me! It was a nice day, filled with an hour massage, winning $40 off of a scratcher, a nice dinner and movie with some friends, and two heaping scoops of lemon custard and cookies and cream ice cream to finish of the night.
  • My husband  and I went on a few trips to explore the state. I’m loving Kansas more and more!
  • I’ve been training for my first 5k! (another post about that coming later)
  • And the big one….. I may or may not have gotten my dream car yesterday (EEEEKKKKKKK!!!!!! another post to follow about this one too) P.S. this is the first social site to know about it so yippee!!

It’s just been one of those days.

And it is only 10 in the morning!

But I must push through the laziness, because I have to battle the commissary…
The military’s zoo version of a grocery store.
AND it’s payday, so it will be even more zoo-like than normal.

Wish me luck!

Stay Lovely,

Kansas Weather, Kansas Rain

Being that I am still a newbie resident to Kansas, I have yet to get the weather patterns down. Today was far from anything that would have happened in Arizona. There I was, sitting outside soaking up the sun with my pup, and clouds randomly rolled in.

It got dark.

It started to pour. And I mean really pour.

Then it hailed.

Then it was sunshine and humidity again.

And then, it was time to go to work.
